About

With much praise and gratitude to Hashem, we have launched the website “PICK A DRASHA“, enabling each and every person, irrespective of his circumstances, to learn a Bar Mitzvah drasha together with his son.

As we built this site, we had in mind the many fathers who invest tremendous effort as their sons prepare to accept עול תורה ומצוות. We thought of those who struggle to find a drasha that truly suits their son’s level, of hardworking men who wish they had more time to learn, and of the precious boys who long to connect and learn with their fathers during this meaningful stage of life.

We took upon ourselves to compose a drasha for you that is clear, original and comprehensive. We have left no stone unturned. The drashot in our site are available in multiple levels of difficulty, beautifully presented in flowing and clear language. They come in five different languages, all at reasonable and affordable prices.

Our goal is to gift you the pleasure of learning together with your son and to equip you for some memorable “father and son” moments.

From Now On…

From Now On… the Bar Mitzvah Drasha Becomes an Experience to Treasure

  • It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned learner or haven’t opened a Gemara in years.
It doesn’t matter how packed your schedule is or how tired you feel after work.
Every father can now take part in preparing the drasha—with ease, clarity, and joy.

  • Imagine the pride and connection of sitting side by side with your son,
learning Torah together as you prepare for the most meaningful moment of his young life.
This is your chance to become a true partner in his spiritual journey.

  • Say goodbye to expensive private tutors.
With a one-time, affordable payment, you and your son get full access—study, review, and rehearse the drasha as many times as you want, at your own pace.

  • No more scrambling for a drasha last minute.
In just a few clicks, you’ll find a speech that fits your son perfectly—in topic, level, and tone.

  • No stress, no pressure.
The drasha is no longer something to “get through.”
From now on, it becomes one of the most joyful, exciting parts of the celebration.

Your son will approach his Bar Mitzvah with pride, confidence, and a deepened love for Torah.
You’ll look back at this process not as a chore, but as one of the most special memories you shared.

This isn’t just a drasha. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
It’s a journey you’ll both carry in your hearts forever.

The drashot

All of the drashot on our website were expertly prepared by the renowned educator, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Grosskopf Shlit”a of Yerushalayim, an expert teacher, who has been teaching young teenagers and boys for over thirty years.

Rabbi Grosskopf is known for his unique ability to share the sweetness of Torah with his students, clearly and eloquently, regardless of their academic abilities.

In addition, Rabbi Grosskopf heads for over twenty years, a “Machon Shiurei Bar Mitzvah” organization in Jerusalem, where he introduces the boys to Hillchos teffilin, prepares them for their Bar Mitzvah and specializes in adapting droshot to ensure that they suit the perfect academic level of each and every student.

How the drashot were written

When preparing each drasha, we focused on two key goals:

1.That every father—regardless of his background in Torah learning—should be able to understand                 the drasha straight from the text. No prior knowledge is assumed. Everything is explained clearly and             simply—just read and enjoy.

2.That even if a child needs to learn the drasha on his own, he should be able to fully grasp the                          content independently, just by reading the text.

To achieve these goals, each drasha is presented in two versions:

  • The full version explains the entire drasha in clear, flowing, and accessible language. Every reference to a Gemara or sefer is clarified in simple terms. There’s no need to pause or unpack complicated ideas—just read and absorb.
  • The concise version is designed for review and memorization, once the drasha has been fully understood. This streamlined version allows the child to rehearse with ease and fluency, without being weighed down by a longer text.

In the Lashon HaKodesh editions, we have deliberately chosen a conversational tone and, at times, have allowed for small deviations from grammatical norms. This choice was made to help the child feel that the drasha is speaking to him, in a familiar, natural voice.

The result?
A smooth, enjoyable learning experience—for both father and son.

Choosing the Right Drasha for Your Son

Once you’ve taken the time to assess what’s truly in your son’s best interest—his abilities, his motivation, and the time available—the next step is finding a drasha that’s a perfect fit.

To help you do that, we’ve carefully organized our selection into five levels, so you can easily choose a drasha that matches your son’s academic profile and learning style.

Level 1 – Simplest and Most Accessible

Designed for boys who find learning particularly challenging—especially if their average Gemara test score is below 40%. These drashot are written with clarity and warmth, to make the experience uplifting and achievable.

Level 2 – For Emerging Learners

Ideal for boys with a basic grasp of learning, averaging around 60% on Gemara tests. These drashot offer a bit more depth while remaining highly accessible and enjoyable.

Level 3 – Solid and Confident Learners

Recommended for students who are consistent and capable, with an average score of about 80%. These drashot contain more substance and are suited to boys who enjoy thoughtful engagement with the material.

Level 4 – Advanced Students

Meant for boys with excellent comprehension and little difficulty following complex ideas. If your son consistently scores near 100% and thrives on depth, this level offers a meaningful challenge.

Level 5 – Exceptional and Gifted Learners

These drashot are longer, more intricate, and intellectually demanding—comparable in depth to a full siman in Sha’agas Aryeh. They are suited to boys with outstanding abilities who enjoy deep conceptual learning and wish to take on something truly exceptional.

Please note:

  • Level 5 drashot are available exclusively in Lashon HaKodesh and yiddish.

  • Although they are clearly written, they contain fewer explanatory notes than the other levels. This is intentional: boys at this level are generally capable of independent analysis and often find lengthy explanations unnecessary or distracting.

  • Because these drashot vary more widely in style and complexity, we encourage you to review them carefully before choosing. And of course, if you’re unsure, feel free to reach out—we’re always happy to guide you in making the best choice for your son.

  • A Few Important Points Before You Choose

  • Selecting the right level of drasha for your son means choosing one he can understand and enjoy without becoming frustrated.
Of course, if your son is motivated and ready to put in extra effort, you may want to consider a drasha one—or even two—levels above his natural learning level. The decision depends on his interest, his time, and your ability to guide him through the process.

  • It’s important to know that the gap between one level and the next is not dramatic. A boy who typically scores 80% but is capable of reaching 100% with more effort can likely manage a Level 4 drasha. The same principle applies across all levels.

Headings

To boost your son’s confidence while delivering the drasha—and to ease any anxiety about forgetting parts of it—we’ve included a special summary page.

This one-page overview lays out the full structure of the drasha in a clear, organized format, with large, easy-to-read text. Questions appear in red and answers in green, to help the eye quickly find what it needs.

This page can be discreetly placed on the table in front of your son, allowing him—if needed—to glance down, easily locate his place, and recall the next part of the drasha with calm and confidence.

Source Sheets

We also provide the sources of the Drasha, copies of the relevant pages of Gemara as well as the Rishonim etc.

This way, even if you will be learning with your son in a place without the necessary seforim at hand, you will always be able to print out the sources and learn from them.

Special! Audio Shiur!

*  Do you want your son to review the drasha independently, in a clear and concise way?

*  Have you already learned the drasha with your son, but he still doesn’t fully understand it and you don’t have time to learn it with him a second time?

*  Did you think that you would have the time to learn with your son but in the end you see that time is too tight?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes, you can purchase the accompanying “audio shiur” for the drasha that you purchased. The entire shiur is delivered clearly and eloquently and closely follows the explanatory text of the drasha.

Moreover, in between sections the Maggid shiur pauses and summarizes what has been said up to that point.

This way, your son can sit and listen to the drasha in a calm and unpressured manner, while following the text inside.

Two Special Gifts for Those who Purchase the Audio Shiur

A Unique Pamphlet on the Bar Mitzvah Drasha

This carefully curated pamphlet beautifully compiles essential ideas related to preparing the Bar Mitzvah drasha, including its profound benefits, relevant minhagim, and important customs.

By studying this booklet, your son will gain a deeper appreciation for the significance and value of preparing and delivering his drasha, while also becoming acquainted with key minhagim and practices associated with the Bar Mitzvah.

To maximize its relevance and usefulness, the booklet has been meticulously edited to exclude any extraneous content. It contains no unrelated stories or anecdotes—only material directly connected to the Bar Mitzvah and the drasha itself.

An Additional Innovation from the “PICK A DRASHA” Team

Included in this package is an exclusive class presented by respected lecturers and educators, designed to prepare your son to deliver his drasha with complete confidence and calm.
